Cheryl and I had been friends for a couple of years, introduced by another friend, and so I jumped at the chance of photographing her wedding. A beautiful lady with a beautiful soul with kind words of support when needed and some great humour to make your day bright. She was marrying Mike and I got to be a part of it. It may have been a rainy day but the sun was shining on their union. Take a look.

I struggle to even put into words what an honour and a most beautiful experience it was to be a part of the birth of Marcel. His birth was at home with his excited big brothers and his grandmother, who was here from Germany for the birth. Anna was lovingly supported by Aaron through the delivery and she blew me away with her strength and love. To be a part of such a monumental moment in a family's journey is an incredibly humbling thing and Marcel will forever be special to me. Congratulations on the birth of your third son, Anna and Aaron, and thank you for allowing me to be present and capture it for you. Little Miss Eliana visited our studio once again and as always, was such a pleasure to spend time with and photograph. We have been following Ellie since her birth a year ago and we were fortunate enough to take some newborn pictures of her. We then were blessed with the opportunity to photograph her for a Christmas mini session and now we are delighted to share with you Ellie's 1st birthday cake smash pictures. Happy birthday to one of the most delightful and beautiful little people I have ever met. The beautiful cake (that I would have loved to eat had it not been smashed up by Little Miss Ellie) was expertly crafted by Lindsay Carmichael of "One Bite Too Many". You can check out her website for more beautiful creations on her website http://www.onebitetoomany.com/ and you can also go like her facebook page "one bite too many". In the first week of January, I was due to give birth to my 3rd son. On January 7th 2016 at 11.11am, baby Garratt Edward Neale-Hughes came into this world weighing 8lbs 4oz. It was a beautiful delivery (as beautiful as agonizing pain can be anyway) and we were very fortunate to be cared for by an incredible team of midwives at Pomegranate Community Midwives. In attendance at the birth was also a photographer who I am fortunate to call a friend. Her name is Evelyn and she is based out of Maple Ridge. You can check out her work at www.evelynsimages.com She did such a beautiful job at capturing one of the most important and special moments of our life and we are very thankful to her for this. The following picture was taken by her: Since our little bundle arrived, I have been taking some time to recover and get to know him. Of course, this involves taking pictures of him and I am excited to share them with everyone. Check out the gallery below.
This year, Christmas is a very special time for one family close to my heart - the Da Roza family. They are celebrating their first Christmas with the little girl who joined them in February this year. She is the happiest, smiliest little baby I have ever met and I had such fun photographing her yesterday. Merry Christmas to you Little Miss Ellie! xxx
It is always exciting for me when I get to work with people I already know as I have an idea of the personalities I am getting to photograph and can help this shine through. Today, I got to work with a very familiar face, Brooke, and her family for their Christmas photo's. Here are the results ...
I love how cute these guys are :) A few days before while I was setting up ready for mini sessions, my husband came in wearing a santa hat and sipping from a Christmas mug ready for his mini-session. Pro D day arrived and so off to the beach we headed. It was a beautiful day and these little guys had a great time. Little Pierre, who we have all watched grow from being a newborn, loved exploring in the sand and Gabriel really watched over him as he checked out the big rock.
We enjoyed a late afternoon up on the mountain in the last of the September sun. The boys enjoyed playing with my reflector and their toy plane. I am hoping to catch some gorgeous October fall sun soon but I guess that depends on the unpredictable BC weather.
These last few weeks have seen many families waving their young ones off to school. For some, it is the first time as the little ones start kindergarten and for other families it is a more familiar feeling. I wanted some special keepsakes of my own son's for their grade 4 and grade 1 beginnings and so we had a "back to school" session.
