Every now and then, you will meet a person who you just click with. This lady is that person for me. We actually met in an online group and were drawn to each other there. Then we met in real life and have been firm friends ever since. We have seen each other through some interesting times - some funny, some sad, some happy, some mad. She continues to be a source of love and support for me and so I was delighted when she approached me to do an extended family session, especially since she is such a talented photographer herself. So, I got to meet her wonderful parents too. Her Dad told me stories about being able to see my home country from a hill in his home country and it was a beautiful afternoon. This was a session very close to my heart.

I am very slow to put these pictures up but Christmas was such an unbelievably busy time for me, and many of you too I'm sure. And now that all the festivities have settled down and we have spent a month in the dull, dreary rain, lets inject a little colour and festivity into our day.
I got to work with some truly amazing families this year. Some were families that I have had the privilege of working with in the past, and some were new families. I had such a great time working with each and every family and I loved the energy that relationship that each family brought with them. Back in February, I ran a competition on the TCMG facebook group that I am a sponsor for. My winner was a TCMG mum called Michelle and we recently had our session together.
It was a glorious sunny day and Michelle brought along Rob and McKenna and their bunnies Hazel and Hannah. Michelle picked the perfect day as the cherry blossoms were in bloom and so we got a gorgeous pink haze mixed in with the dreamy sunshine. Take a moment to look at beautiful Michelle and her family. Just in time for Valentine's Day, I got to photograph this gorgeous couple. They have a love story that spans the world. Battery is from New Zealand and Tanya is from Canada and they found each other. 2 sons later and almost 11 years of marriage and it is clear to see that this couple are even more in love now than they have ever been. I am very lucky in my photography work as each and every family whom I work with are so special. Here is another family who asked me to be the one to take their family photograph's and who I had a bond with beforehand. Little Lahni came and spent time with me during the summer as I took care of her for a month and so I was delighted to have the opportunity to get to capture her and her family at a location that is one of my favourite places. Meet the Chaloner's... This is such an exciting photo session for me. The Laman family are a very special family to me. I was so honoured when they asked me to take their family photo's in order to capture little Senalder's first every Christmas with them. He is such an amazing little boy and is the centre of Henry and Elizabeth's world. This was also his first experience with snow. A time of firsts and a time of celebration. Here is a family who have appeared here before as it is not my first time photographing them. It is always a pleasure to welcome back the Chan-Sison family for photograph's. I get to watch their children grow and capture those magical moments. Another little lady who came to visit me again. Eliana is a very special little girl and I just love spending time with her. She always has the biggest smiles and enjoys her time having her picture taken. The Gokool family arrived with personality in bucket fulls. Little MJ couldn't wait to snap those suspenders and throw some serious catalogue poses our way. We got some amazing pictures that were a lot of fun and a great keepsake for the Gokool family Christmas. Josh announced "I'm here and I'm ready to rock this!" upon his arrival. Needless to say, this session was a world of fun. The family recently added little Zoey the puppy to their family and so they wanted to capture memories of her too. Zoey was amazing and enjoyed all the cuddles from Sarah and Josh. Little Shaan came with an abundance of smiles. He was a ray of sunshine on a rainy November afternoon. His family are absolutely gorgeous and it was a pleasure to work with them. These guys were a lot of fun to work with. Howie loved rolling the sparkly baubles around. His favourite person in the world is his dad and so he was excited to put on a matching Santa hat for some pictures. .Out of all the kids I know, Ethan has to be one of the ones with the biggest heart. He has so much love and joy in him and loves nothing more than to share that with his family. He had an abundance of hugs for his mama and his little brother, Christian. Christian's favourite person is his mama and all he wanted was pictures with her and his big bro and its clear to see how much he loves being in the middle of all the love.
I was so delighted to be able to work with the Griffth-Tkatch family in November. These guys are special to me and my family as Peter is a childhood friend of my husband. He was best man at our wedding. Last year, Kim and I were due to give birth to our babies just 2 weeks apart. Kim brought along the most adorable wagon and the girls had fun in it. I had a great morning with these guys. This November, I went along to the Christmas party of a local facebook group, TCMG Canada, to capture the evening. Everyone had a great night and it was really amazing to be able to meet so many of the ladies I see in the group on a daily basis. Nice to meet you all, ladies. I was given such a beautiful opportunity to photograph Marcel's birth and just a few short days later, his family invited me to be their photographer for a beautiful family session at the beach with Marcel, his big brothers, Leon and David, and their grandparents. The sun was shining and we had a great time. |
